Mental Health in the Black Community: Part 2

Continuing the conversation about mental health in the Black community:  I grew up hearing that our people didn’t have time for mental health issues.  If you had trouble coping, you had to snap out of it or push through, on your own or with God’s help. Therapy was for other folks.  I know some of you must heard this growing up as well.  In this hilarious clip from The Daily Show which was written by rising comedic star Randall Otis, Trevor Noah talks about the many reasons Black folks avoid therapy. It’s funny, and it reminds us that we’ve got to face mental health issues head on and do what we can to help our kids thrive.
