As 2014 draws to a close, we at GCP have been thinking about what 2015 will bring. As we begin another year of focusing on our boys and the skills we need to parent them well, we have so much to worry about, (especially these days), so much to learn, so much to share.
At the end of January 2015 we will begin our 5th year of Ground Control Parenting. We’ve got a new look, which we hope is encouraging you to explore the hundreds of articles we’ve posted over the years to inspire, encourage and assist us in parenting our boys. But we want to be BIGGER and BETTER in 2015, and we need YOUR help to do so.
In 2015, Parents, we really want to hear from YOU. What can GCP do for YOU in 2015? What kinds of issues are you most concerned about when you think about raising your young men of color? What tips and advice are you looking for? GCP has always been focused on sharing practical advice about raising boys–we are focused on what works. We’ve done a few GCP live events in 2014, and at each one we’ve seen and heard the interest in parenting our Black boys. We will keep this focus, but we also want to make sure we are giving you what you need.
Your input would make this easier and better. What would you like to see more of? We’d love to have a parenting advice column, and a national conversation on dicey topics like the N word in music, interracial dating, how to talk about responsible sexual behavior (always, but especially on college campuses), and so much more. All these things are in the works for 2015, but we really want to hear from you.
You can start by responding to this post with a comment. (We are so tired of these autobot spam comments, we really need to hear more from real people!!) Tell us what you think about GCP and what we can do for you in 2015. We would LOVE to hear from you!
