University of Pennsylvania Dean of Admissions Eric Furda hosts “The Process”, a Sirius XM monthly show on college admissions, and I was his first guest for the July show.  It aired on Sunday morning, and if you missed it you can hear it at https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmentertainment/the-process-7-26-19

And what will you hear in my segment?  Lots of college admissions advice and tips. We talked about the importance of getting a proper perspective on the admissions process (for parents and students), how to help your son or daughter avoid burnout in their high school years, how to structure college visits, and so much more.

Our conversation about college visits was timely, as summer is a good time to visit some schools in which your child might be interested.  While there may not be as many students around as there are during the school year, summer visits will give your child a chance to explore and experience the campus, and help determine some of the bigger questions about their college search (large or small campus, urban or suburban).

It will also help your child to begin to actually picture himself in college, which is an important step in the process.  And finally, spending this relatively relaxed time with your child during the summer can be a great time for you to hear how she feels about the process, and you can assure her that it will all work out, because it will.

Thanks so much to those of you who sent in questions.  In the next GCP post I will answer some of the questions we didn’t get a chance to cover during the show.

I had so much fun in conversation with Eric, and it has led me to really focus on how chatting about parenting tips is such a great way to share them.  Hmm,  could a GCP podcast be in our future?  Would you listen?  Stay tuned!!
